Grace SunWith one last nostalgic glance over her shoulder, Grace Sun bid goodbye to twelve years of graphic and internet design and strolled confidently into the world of fashion at the age of 33. After studying at Parsons School of Design and interning with established designers, Sun debuts her first original collection for Spring 2007, brandishing timeless pieces that capture the many whimsical silhouettes of the female form. For Sun, trading in her mouse for a sewing kit didn't prove to be too difficult a transition; the natural-born designer simply saw it as a chance to express herself creatively through a different medium. Hence, where her talents were previously channeled to create intricately structured web and digital imageries, those inspirations are now brought to life via fabric in one exquisite garment after another. The collection, made up of stunningly stylish yet detailed pieces such as dresses, coats, vests and tops in organic natural fabrics as crushed linen, cotton and silk, is meant to fit effortlessly into a modern woman's life while enticing her to reveal the innately playful side. "I want to design clothes that are fashionable yet versatile, feminine yet tailored, and most of all, reflect my personal touch and aesthetics," says Sun. Expect no less than just that; a line created with heart and soul. |
